I agree - I was looking forward to watching the subbed version. I've noticed that, while there are several titles in the list of anime where they say if something's the dubbed version, there are plenty that are dubbed that they don't mark as being dubs. I had the same thing happen with Saiyuki.

Who cares whether its subbed or dubbed? As long as you are able to watch it, it shouldn't matter. I'm sure both versions are out there somewhere so don't cry about it. Be glad that you're even able to watch the show in any format.

In this one's experience, the English dubs are usually a less acurate translation of the original Japanese. The plot of Samurai X was almost completely different in the dubbed version than in the subbed version. However, we should be thankful that we are able to watch this show at all.

personally i like both dub and sub versions. sub is more accurate and has better voice acting but you don't have to read along with dubs and subs are ALSO TRANSLATED so even they're not completely accurate. people translate it as best as they can and nobody's perfect. be happy you're even able to watch it and leave it at that

I'm a big fan of the subbed versions of anime, but in this case, where Kenshin sounds a bit gayish, i prefer the dubbed version.
Examples of better subbed than dubbed can be found in "Naruto" and "Devil May cry"
DUBBED is better than Subbed the eppisodes are better when you can understand them and you dont have to read subtitles!

Okie... that last episode was half assed and only half animated rest was badly done pictures on a cheap mobile and videos too. and alot of time wasting like 1:30ish jst staring at the outside of the house... and the episode concluded NOTHING... NOTHING they never showed their love, he never said ANYTHING bout wandering yet they named it end of wandering... shame, rest of anime was amazing though ^_^

I hope you do know...the english translation of the japanese words if way off. They always seem to put in words that fit the mouthing of the anime. Which me being japanese irritates the hell out of me...I wish the companies would hire a person who is fluent in japanese and english to translate them...not indept people to do it.

SOME episodes you'll have to watch dubbed though since some veoh members have blocked the episodes. most of them aren't blocked. about 2 out of the 28 episodes in the beginning that i watched, i had to watch as dubbed :)

I like the English Version better. Subtitles just don't give it the same emotion as if it's in a language you understand. Like when Kenshin says "Huh?!", we all know in Japanese it's "Oro?" but it just sounds better to me I guess.
I HATE THE SAMURAI X MOVIES. This first one, the voices are stupid and frikken Kaoru can't even say Sanosuke's name right. In the other ones, they don't even relate to the comic at all and don't give Kenshin the happy ending that he's supposed to have.
Overall, it's a great Anime. I just was a little sad that Kenshin and Kaoru didn't even kiss once T_______T. And what about little Kenji? Hmm??? *sighs*.
I was sad when it was over. Again it's a Great Anime and I plan to re-watch it ^^.
lol. Samurai X is way better than this. Shows the growth of Kenshin from boy to hardened assassin. Dont get me wrong, this is still a good show... I do wish it was subbed tho. Cus at least in japanese, I cant tell if the voice acting is shitty.

Lets get this straight im not saying dont argue that would just soung gay but i think most of you are really ignorant and trying to show it. I mean one for gods sake youre watching a show made by asians so dont insult them two its about trying to bring peace so dont go name calling you just sound really unintteligent. Also for those of you who like subbed the translation doesnt bother people who dont know japanese and reading subtitles is annoying but when i learn japanese i will probably watch them in japanese and those who like dubbed im with you for now but some voice acting i heard has been terrible and for someone who does know japanese the pronunciation is horrible. Both sides appeal to me and i love the arguing but the people who are arguing are not doing their sides justice and i have to say the name calling is dumb just watch the show the way you want to argue witch is better if you want but just be smart about it! The smartest people here are the ones who say both are good case closed.

Wow, I can't believe what a fuss is being made over the language being spoken in the Anime.
Personally I'm just really grateful to be able to watch these online - no matter whether it's subbed or dubbed. It's really difficult to get hold of a lot of these shows elsewhere, and the sets can be quiet expensive.
As for the translation, well, both subtitles and dubbed tracks have translation variations to the original versions - the language structure of Japanese and English is very different so it is hard to get a direct translation. There are a lot of words in both languages that don't have an immediate equivalent. Really the only way to be sure that you are getting the original content is to speak the language yourself, and Japanese is a fairly difficult language to learn.
Be thankful that people have taken the time to translate it at all - and then to post it online for everyone to access.
