I really love how they give extra depth of layers to Toguro, so that he's not entirely evil like in most movie stories. He was in despair too, he got broken dream too, and I can't but to help sympathize him..
I really don't want this show to go all DBZ where people die like 5 times and keep coming back. I don't mind coming back once but the next time Genkia dies she had damn well better stay dead.

Everything in life is objective, and more people need to realize that. No one is right, and no one is wrong. No one is good and no one is evil. Look at terrorists. They choose to kill innocent civilians. THAT is evil.
The subject here is an anime, so let's bring in one of the most famous anime villains from the past few years. Orochimaru wants to destroy a village just for the sake of destroying the village. Such wanton destruction is evil.

I've gotta agree with 4LtheAuthor on this one, though Anonymous on July 19, 2008 11:04 AM makes a valid point about the absolute. Good and Evil is only in the eyes of the beholder. Take Hitler for example. I'm gonna make an assumption here and say that the majority, if not everybody paying attention to this conversation, would say that what Hitler did was pretty messed up. But what alot of people don't realize is that Hitler was working toward what he thought was the greater good. In his eyes, he was the good the guy and apparently he wasn't the only one who thought so. Look at all his followers. Hitler was just trying to help the world in the way he thought was best. (I know I sound like I'm defending him, but I'm not. Just wanted to make that clear.) Right and Wrong are all a matter of perception.
I don't really want this to turn all DBZ either. Where's the threat if you can just come back to life if you die? Not very suspensful. "Oh gee! You died! That's okay though, I can make you come back to life." LAME! That was one of the main reasons I really don't care for that show. That and how it took 20 episodes for one freaking fight to end.

even with terrorists, nevertheless i agree with 4lauthor. good, bad, evil is all a matter of opinion. terrorists are evil in our point of view, but they are doing what they think they should, even tho its not right. destroying nature for developement may seem like a good idea to some people, to others its evil. they are taking more lives than terrorists
4LtheAuthor makes sense, but he is really wrong. It makes sense to kill people that have done nothing to affect your "justice",and that is what terrorists do. They feel as if they do these bombings it will make them closer to their god, but they are ending multiple lives and their just because of their beiefs.
The concept of "good" or "bad", be based on our knowledge and what seems rational. Ending the life of any innocent person is not reasonable at all. "Eye for eye" seems rational though.
Terrorists do not bomb just because they think it will "bring them closer to God". Just like in the case of this anime, there are many layers to the situation, many reasons for action.
Some, like in Israel and Palestine, do it in self defense. Some for revenge, a brother, a mother, a father lost. Some like certain Islamic folk to protect their culture. I am not saying they are right (taking an innocent is NEVER ok) but they geniunely feel they are doing right. And it is a tragedy that this sort of thing happens.
Perhaps world politics should really happen like in YYH, with a Dark Tournament where leaders and people who want to be involved duke it out for themselves, and leave innocent people alone.
I would leave a comment on this converstaion but it seems you guys have it all sorted out yourselves. What im curious of is why choose to speak on topics of this nature on an anime site...why not on some chat place?
