So far I've watched until #60 and I can say the graphic quality of recent numbers have noticably declined. From number 58, the characters' face look different from previously.
The animation hasn't declined. I would say its gotten better, thats why their faces looks so differen't. Like in Naruto, the animation got better during the forest of death I think

Naruto AND YYH are awesome, but YYH is better :D this is my 2nd time watching the series and this is one of the most memorable parts in the story. i hate when YYH ends tho :( just makes me wanna watch it again... so i am lol

Anyone notice how after Hiei is "eaten" Bui's face is surprised then calm then surprised again? That first look seemed premature because of the calm look. I wonder why they did that instead of one long surprised look....

First 10 min of animation was alien/chibi-fied, the rest was awesome. This would have been the awesomest fight ever, but it sucks that the animators got lazy.
On another note, Hiei, Koto (Kodo?), and Koenma were awesome. Hiei not only for the fight, but for, 'If I wake up and find out we lost, I swear I'll kill you all.' too. Koto for her ribbon, and Koenma for his jetpack.
I can see how some are honorable, but in the dark tournament? Kurama was blackmailed, Genkai was killed (outside of the rounds), and Hiei and Genkai were trapped for a while. I see no need to be honorable.
As for this whole Naruto vs. YYH nonsense, take into consideration Naruto was made 10 years after YYH. Animation techniques have changed considerably since then, after all, but three years before YYH was started, so did Dragon Ball Z... And it's in roughly the same style.

Each of the anime mentioned here are good in there own way. I love Bleach, Naruto, DBZ, and Yu-Yu-Hakusho. There's no point in trying to find out which is better. I prefer to look at what makes each of them totally kick ass!
bui is pretty awesome too i wonder why kurama didnt recruit him to fight in the other tournament. he definitely pwns jin, chu, ang shishi. i was disappointed i thought that because hei spared bui that i would see him in a later episode but i never saw him again.
Everything today has superior animation to the past, it's simply how things have progressed. Well, except Naruto. Naruto sucks. Storyline sucks, characters suck, the whole "ninja" shit which makes no sense sucks, the fact that chakra is actually a food made from lizards makes it stupid, oh and fans of Naruto are a bunch of idiots who don't know what they are talking about.
Im not sure but i think Bui/Broly monster was in contact with another object outside the arena for WAY more than 10 seconds. Stupid official pricks....
