I Concur. To me it is a fitting look. Considering the fact that the Saiyan had to become the "ape" to become ssj4.. Why not have him covered in Fur. the darker hair just symbolizes the final form. Start with black hair... End with Black Hair.

I agree the ss4 transformation was cool. But the most awesome transformation i have ever seen is when goku goes ss1 for the very first time. that was AWESOME!
I think SS4 looks cool but i liked ss1 best cause it was so new. However, i dont know where the black n red came in at. It would seem they would have him gold and black now that would be Fire.

Saiyans get stronger after having the shit kicked out of them and them coming back from the brink of death...not simply fighting in general...thus part of the reason that Goku and other saiyans in general like to fight strong opponents.
